With about 11 days to the end of registration, participating teams in the upcoming Abuja Veterans International Football Tournament have commended the organizers for providing insurance coverage for all players involved in the competition.
In a show of appreciation, team officials and players from some of the participating teams praised the tournament’s Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for prioritizing their safety and well-being.
The President of Ex Professionals, Umar Abubakar Ali said: “This is a laudable initiative that demonstrates the organizers’ commitment to our welfare.”
“We’re grateful for their foresight in providing insurance coverage, which gives us peace of mind as we compete.”
Similarly, a prominent official of Capital City Club, Akadi, expressed his team’s appreciation, stating: “The insurance coverage is a welcome development. It shows that the organizers value our health and safety, and we’re motivated to give our best performance.”
The tournament’s LOC Chairman, Mr. Patrick Bassey, explained that the insurance policy is part of the committee’s efforts to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
“We’re committed to providing a world-class tournament experience, and the players’ insurance coverage is a key aspect of that,” Bassey said.
“We’re delighted that the teams appreciate our efforts, and we look forward to a successful and incident-free tournament.”
The Abuja Veterans International Football Tournament comes up between June 1st and September 30th with participating teams competing for the coveted trophy and cash prizes.
Deadline Day for registration of the world class showpiece remains 30th of April, 2025.
